Center for Math & Science cancels school Thursday because of heat

Because of an extreme-heat advisory and lack of adequate air conditioning, the Rock Island Center for Math & Science, 2101 16th Ave., Rock Island, will not have school on Thursday, May 12, according to a news release sent Wednesday evening. 

There will be no remote learning and all before- and after-school programs also are canceled, the release says.
